EZ-Pass Boulder Crossing, NJ Turnpike Exit 16E

Originally planned as a Jack & bore with a pilot tube microtunnel, this job quickly got off on the wrong foot. We attempted 5 different entries to get a pilot across the 255' that needed to be crossed, but due to large boulders and cobbles under the roadway, traditional auger boring on Line and Grade would not be possible.

In the face of rock and other obstructions, we quickly knew that our best chance at compelting the project would be with our Geonex Rock Tunneling machine. Once we were approved for the new equipment, we were able to quickly turn around a succesful Casing installation of 24" Steel Casing over 255'.
